An interesting day at our Kolkata Centre!

On Sunday 29 December, we had an interesting get together at our Centre. It was a mix of so many things. We had a dialogue and also watched two interesting short videos. The event was arranged at the request of friends who were keen to do something special to remember the contribution of a remarkable human being to our Centre. Amala Chakravarti. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 95 and this year 2024 is her birth centenary.

The friends of the Centre who had gathered  talked about Amala Di’s contribution and we then had readings from ‘The Book Of Life’.  We also screened a short 10 minute video which had the core part of J Krishnamurti’s last talk at Madras.

Our grateful thanks to our friend Gautam who produced a short 3 minute video in homage to Amala di. He did this at one day’s notice.  The short video as it sums up why friends consider Amala di so special.

The reason I am sharing all this is simply to communicate the fact that goodness is all that is needed to make a difference. Goodness is what summed up the essence of Amala di. No wonder she could relate so completely to the teachings of J Krishnamurti.
