Fifteen participants joined us at our Centre at 30 Deodar Street, Kolkata on Sunday 19 June for a dialogue program and explored ‘What does it mean to observe?’ We hope that as we ponder and reflect, more and more will be revealed about the beauty of pure observation. We screened a short video and the link is given below. It was a response to a question put to JKrishnamurti at Saanen in 1984 about the difference between thinking and observation.
We also had a reading on ‘Observing without the ‘me’. The text selected for reading was taken from a public talk by J Krishnamurti at Brockwood Park in 1970.

It appears that there are perhaps six important questions to reflect on. First, freedom; can observation happen without freedom from bias, prejudice, choice, motive? Second, why do we not see holistically without division, without fragmentation? Third, can we see things as they are if there is a filter of conditioning and accumulation? Fourth, is observation possible when the ‘me’ is dominant; the ‘me’ being everything that makes up the ‘ego’ or self? Fifth, can thought, which is essentially a response to memory, the past, have any role in observation? Finally, are Observation, Perception and Awareness in the same ‘league’?
We hope that more and more friends can get involved in our dialogue programs. If interested, write to us at kfikolkata@gmail.com
Didn’t get any information about this event and certainly missed a lot. JK’s teachings make one passionate to understand self, ego, conditioning, freedom, observation, perception, awareness, life and living !
