On Sunday 6 December, 2020at 10 a.m., we had an interesting online event. We had Michael Mendizza in conversation with Mark Lee and his wife Asha Lee.
Mark Lee is an American author and also Trustee, Krishnamurti Foundation India and America. He served as the executive director of the Krishnamurti Foundation of America for 20 years and was director of Krishnamurti Publications for five years. In his early years as an educator, Mark Lee was at Rishi Valley School, Madanpalle for eight years. He was also the founding director of Oak Grove School in Ojai, California. In his memoirs ‘Knocking at the Open Door: My Years with J. Krishnamurti’, Lee wrote extensively about the time he spent with Krishnamurti.
Michael Mendizz is a well known writer, documentary filmmaker and educator. For two decades, he has gathered and published interviews with many researchers, scientists, authors and more (including David Bohm and J Krishnamurti). His new book ‘Unconditionally Free: The Life and Insights of J Krishnamurti’ was published this year. His documentary films on Krishnamurti, such as ‘Challenge Of Change’, ‘The Mind Of Krishnamurti’ and ‘Beyond Myth and Tradition’, have been widely seen and appreciated by viewers all over the world.
The 90 minute conversation had an interesting format. Mendizza played nine short video clips of his earlier interviews with Mark and Asha Lee and after each video clip, asked Mark or Asha Lee to explain in more detail what they had said. As expected, it was a holistic, free wheeling, deep and spontaneous conversation. A ‘living’ journey beyond boundaries.
The program was recorded and is available on youtube.
